What are the details of this procedure?
Rhinoplasty may be performed using an open or closed approach.
- In open rhinoplasty, a small incision is made across the columella (the tissue between the nostrils) for full visibility of nasal structures.
- In closed rhinoplasty, incisions are made inside the nostrils, resulting in no external scar.
